FINAL PRESENTATION
Design: Desert / Moisture in air / Water collection / Mobility / Beetle
Grasshopper: Lofted form / Object on surface / Waffle Structure / Thickness
The main focus for this project was to design a form that mimics the ‘Desert beetle’, which collects water from moisture in Desert area for survival. The Beetle will be composed of 3d printed form and electronic devices such as solar panels, cooling plates, GPS sensor, and electronic motor. The form had to be parametric since the sizing of the electronic devices may vary depending on how much power is needed to function as Beetle, which is to collect water and move to place to place. This intervention, once it is created, will use the condensation to collect water from moisture. Also the physical model and the rendering of the model eventually will be displayed next year at Focus Grant Exhibition.
